Tame Cargo transports carefully the cargo of perishable products, taking into account the special characteristics of such shipments, which conservation and proper management is essential.
Perishable products include products such as: seeds, fruit, vegetables, fresh flowers, meat, fish, shellfish, and any other product that can be affected easily by improper preservation or handling conditions.
Shipments consist of substances or perishable items will be accepted if they meet the following specifications:
The wet loads (seafood, meat, etc.) should make sure in order to do not cause leaks or liquid spills during transport. In addition, they must not emit strong odors.
In horticultural products (fruit, vegetables, flowers, etc.), the packaging should be sufficiently strong so that they can withstand the stacking of at least 2.2 meters high, without the boxes next to the floor collapse. At the same time, the packaging should be moisture resistant that these products generate.
Special Conditions
For shipments of perishable products which are packed with solid carbon dioxide (dry ice) must exist a prior agreement between the shipper and Tame Cargo. Dry ice is classified as a Hazardous Material and the amount that can be placed on board is limited by the type of aircraft.
No specific indications will be accepted about maintain accurate temperatures or temperature ranges (e.g., "keep 5 degrees" or "hold between 10 and 13 degrees").
Note: Whenever you use dry ice as a refrigerant, you must include the legend: "Dry Ice 9 UN 1845", followed by the amount of dry ice contained in each package.
Labelling
The perishable cargo must have the following labels:
- The handling label for perishable which identifies the contents: meat, fish, vegetables or fruit.
- Handling labels for package orientation (orientation arrows).
- Hazard label Class 9 when dry ice was used as refrigerant of the product.
